Getting Into Debt: Falling Fundraising By Closed Debt-End Funds Isn't The Whole Picture
Heading into 2020, investor interest in real estate debt remains strong, according to Madison Realty Capital Managing Principal and Co-Founder Josh Zegen, who has seen investors utilize increasingly sophisticated approaches to real estate debt investing over the past 10 years. Speaking to Institutional Real Estate Inc., Zegen observed, "at the end of the day, there's a huge allocation amongst pension funds, endowments, foundations, and institutional investors toward real estate debt". Madison Realty Capital is definitive proof of this trend, as it embarks on continued national expansion in 2020, with regional offices in key markets including Los Angeles and Dallas, after closing more than $2.2 billion in transactions in 2019.
