Twenty-one of the commercial real estate industry’s top lenders give their 2 cents on the state of the market.

Commercial Observer interviewed top industry brass for the 2021 Lenders Feature. Managing principal and co-founder of Madison Realty Capital, Josh Zegen sees a current void in lending on heavy value-add deals, including ground-up construction and projects that require a gut renovation. Madison was able to close on $1.8 billion in deals in 2020, when a large swath of their competitors were sidelined, and he wishes that he did even more in that time period. Approaching two decades in the private lending business, Madison's major competitive advantage is having different products for different deal profiles. They can price risk at all different price points, and can provide a custom solution at different points in the life cycle of a deal.
